CONWAY, Ark. (June 28, 2013) - A new video featuring Conway was released today as part the community's ongoing effort to win PetSafe's national "Bark for Your Park" online voting contest.
The video, posted on YouTube, shows more than a dozen Conway children and adults barking and howling on camera to show their enthusiasm for the $100,000 grand prize to fund a new dog park.
"Not only is the video really funny, but Conway gets an extra 1,000 votes if we can get 1,000 views on YouTube," explained Judi Standridge from the Humane Society of Faulkner County, the group heading up the effort for a new dog park.
You can vote for Conway twice every day until the contest ends on July 26 - once at www.BarkForYourPark.com and again on Facebook.
"Right now we are in second place behind Texarkana, Texas," added Standridge. "So we're hoping all of Arkansas will step up and vote so we can win."
Conway is one of 15 finalists in the national contest. In addition to the grand prize winner, PetSafe will award $25,000 prizes to the top vote-getters in the small, medium and large city categories. Conway is categorized as a large city.
Conway plans to use prize winnings from the contest to build a new park at the Don Owen Sports Complex, including fencing, benches, dog waste stations, lighting and water access.
