SEARCY, Ark. (HARDING U.) - Harding junior forward Kristen Celsor was named Capital One Academic All-District VII on Thursday.

A native of Searcy, Ark., Celsor leads the Lady Bisons in scoring at 14.9 points per game. She is also among the leaders in the Great American Conference in rebounding at 7.9 per game.
Celsor, a senior academically, is a communication science and disorders major with a 3.89 grade point average.

The 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 grade point average and have reached sophomore eligibility.

District VII is comprised of the 43 teams in the Great American Conference, MIAA, and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Celsor was one of only six District VII women's basketball players honored and joined Arkansas-Monticello's Candace Vergadamo as the only two honorees from the Great American Conference.

Celsor and the other five First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
