JONESBORO, Ark. - The UALR men's golf team placed fifth of 19 teams at the ASU Red Wolves Invitational on Tuesday at Ridge Pointe Country Club. Sophomore Alfred Kerstis tied for 12th among 112 individuals after shooting a one-over par 71 in his final round to finish with a three-round total of 218 (+5).
Austin Peay cruised to the team win after posting a final-round team total of 291 (+7) to finish at five-over for the tournament (857). Samford finished 15 shots back to place second overall (872, +20), while Southern Illinois (+26, 878) moved up a spot in the final round to end the tournament in third place. Belmont (879, +27) finished in fourth place, just a shot ahead of UALR (880, +28).
Anthony Bradley of Austin Peay took first place among individuals with a three-round total of 209 (-4).
Junior Nick Zimmerman shot a one-over 73 in his final round to finish at 221 (+8) for the tournament. Sophomores Johann Voss (222, +9) and Colby Benton (223, +10) weren't far behind, and senior Nicklaus Benton finished with a final-round 79 to end the tournament at 233 (+20).
UALR will next compete at the Jim West Intercollegiate in Victoria, Texas on April 8-9.
