HU Women's Golf Ranked No. 6 in Central Region

    SEARCY - The Harding women's golf team is ranked No. 6 in the first edition of the NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings, released Thursday. It is the first time in the eight-year history of the program that Harding's women have appeared in the regional rankings.
    The top nine teams and four individuals not on those teams advance to the Central Region tournament on May 5-7 at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
    The rankings come out again on Apr. 18 and on Apr. 25. On Monday, Apr. 29, the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee will announce 36 teams and 16 individuals that advance to the four regional tournaments.
    Harding is coming off its second tournament victory of the season. Head coach Christy Morgan's team won the Natural State Golf Classic in Heber Springs, Ark., on Monday and Tuesday.
    Harding's next action is at the Great American Conference Championship on Apr. 14-16 in Hot Springs, Ark.
