BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Expected bad weather in the Bentonville area has forced the postponement of the 2013 Great American Conference Softball Championships by one full day. No games will be played on Friday. The Championship will resume at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The schedule of games remains the same. Arkansas-Monticello faces Ouachita Baptist at 11 a.m. East Central squares off with Southern Arkansas at 1 p.m. The Savage Storm and Lady Reddies will play for a spot in the title game at 3 p.m. Two more loser's bracket games follow at 5 and 7 p.m. The title game will now be played at noon on Sunday with the "if necessary" game slated for 2 p.m.
"Last night's rain, as well as a forecast that calls for additional inclement weather throughout the day creates conditions unfit for a conference tournament," GAC Commissioner Will Prewitt said. "With warmer and drier weather in the forecast, we decided to push the tournament back 24 hours."
