MAGNOLIA, Ark. (SAU) - The Southern Arkansas softball team has announced that it will put on their Elite Pitcher & Catcher Camp at Lady Mulerider Field on the campus of Southern Arkansas on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The camp is open to all who are entering the sixth grade through those that will be graduating in 2014. This will be a one-day camp in which all campers will have a chance to showcase their skills in pitching and catching.

Head Softball Coach Corey Lyon and assistants Erinn Jayjohn and Brittany Hile will lead instruction at the camp. Lyon, who will enter into his third year as head coach, has led the Lady Mulerider softball program to consecutive GAC Tournaments. Jayjohn (pitcher at Ole Miss) and Hile (catcher at the University of Kansas) each have Division I experience and Hile brings professional softball experience as well as she played for the NPF Diamonds in 2011. Current SAU softball players will also participate as guest instructors.

All pitchers will need to bring a glove and ball of their choice (name to be written on the ball). All catchers will need to bring all of the catching gear (helmet, chest protector, and shin guards).

The camp is $50 per camper and registration is on-going. Those wishing to register for the camp may do so by going to Muleriderathletics.com, clicking on sports > softball > camps.
