UCA women's soccer falls to Missouri State

    CONWAY, Ark. (UCA) -- The Central Arkansas women's soccer faced off against Missouri State at the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex. The Bears were unable to overcome allowing two first half goals, falling to Missouri State 2-0 to drop to 2-2-0 on the season.

    Missouri State grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute when Alaina Derse banked a shot off the post. Just three minutes later, Lauren Josten extended the lead to 2-0, blasting a goal from 22 yards out.
    Missouri State would only manage one shot in the second half, but didn't allow Central Arkansas to score on any of their four second half chances.

    Kate Koch and Kelsey Johnson each placed on shot on goal for Central Arkansas. Josten, Derse, and Molly Brewer each had a shot on goal for Missouri State. Lyndzey Goff player the first half in goal for Central Arkansas, making one save and allowing two goals. Kaitlyn Keith played the second half. Jessica Perry made two saves in goal for Missouri State.

    Central Arkansas returns to the field against UMKC in the second game of a double-header on Sunday. The men's team kicks off at 11:00 in the morning, and the women will start at 2:00 pm.
