    Weevils Downed by Ouachita, 35-10

    ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (UAM) - Ouachita Baptist scored 28 unanswered points in the final three quarters to defeat the University of Arkansas at Monticello football team by a final score of 35-10 on Saturday afternoon at A.U. Williams Field.

    The Weevils (5-5, 4-5 Great American Conference) started the game by taking a 7-0 lead on a 10-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Cody Trimble to junior Rod Smith at the 10-minute mark of the first quarter to cap a 14-play, 66-yard drive.

    OBU (7-2, 7-2 GAC) answered on a 20-yard touchdown run by Steven Kehner at the 3:09 mark of the first quarter to cap an eight-play, 52-yard drive that took almost four minutes. UAM went up 10-7 on a 24-yard field goal from freshmanJamie McGee to start the second-quarter scoring at the 13:50 mark. The field goal capped a six-play, 27-yard drive that was set up by an interception from senior Calvin Ursin on the second-play of OBU's drive that started with just under a minute remaining in the first quarter.

    The Tigers took over from there. Quarterback Benson Jordan capped a nine-play, 74-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run to put his team up 14-10 with 9:20 remaining in the first half. Steven Kehner scampered 22-yards for a touchdown with just over one minute remaining in the half to give OBU a 21-10 lead at the break.

    OBU was limited to just two touchdowns in the second half, one coming on a 45-yard punt return from Etauj Allen at the 3:02 mark of the third quarter, and the other a seven-yard touchdown run by Chris Rycraw to finalize the scoring with 12:25 remaining in the fourth quarter.

    Ouachita ended the game with a 405-148 edge in total offense. Most of OBU's offense came on the ground with 344 rushing yards.

    Sophomore Nick Williams ended the game with 14 carries for 52 yards. Trimble finished at 9-for-19 through the air for 67 yards. Defensively, UAM was led by junior Keith Reynolds with 11 total tackles, 10 of which were unassisted.

    The Weevils conclude the 2013 season next Saturday, November 16 on the roadagainst Southern Arkansas for the Battle of the Timberlands. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Magnolia.
