ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Tyler Friedel scored a career-high 35 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the 3-point line, Clarke Overlander scored 15 points off the bench, going 4-of-4 from 3-point range, and Marshawn Arnold added a 14-point effort as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (15-7, 10-4 Great American Conference) held off a late rally by the Ouachita Baptist Tigers (7-13, 4-10 GAC), winning 86-80 on Thursday at Vining Arena.
Tyler Friedel opened scoring with a 3-pointer just 40 seconds in to the contest, one of seven 3-pointers that he would hit in the opening half of the game. The two teams spent the opening five minutes of the contest trading leads, with Micah Delph sinking a 3-pointer with 16:44 to play in the opening half giving OBU its last lead of the contest.
It was off to the races for the Wonder Boys, who quickly pushed the lead into double digits after another 3-pointer by Friedel at the 13:14 mark. The lead continued to grow for Arkansas Tech, as another Friedel 3-pointer at the 2:28 mark set the Wonder Boys' lead at 21, and another 3-pointer by Nick Wayman gave the Wonder Boys a 23-point (47-24) lead at the half.

OBU continued to chip away at the Arkansas Tech lead, pulling to within ten (72-62) with 3:48 to play. However, the Wonder Boys would keep OBU at arm's length, while OBU was able to close the gap to single digits within the final minute, OBU got no closer than six points as the Tech held on for the victory.
