ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (HSU) - Henderson State will attempt to end a three-game losing skid as the Lady Reddies face sixth-ranked Harding, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
Thursday's game is sponsored by the Reddie Bookstore with fans having a chance to win free T-shirts and additional prizes.
The game is also the annual Make-A-Wish game with members of Henderson State's Student Athlete Advisory Committee collecting donations throughout the game.
Since 2003, NCAA Division II has been a national sponsor of Make-A-Wish foundation, raising over $2.4 million dollars to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Fans are encouraged to help Henderson State University and Make-A-Wish achieve its vision to grant the wish of an eligible child.
Despite clinching a spot in the GAC Tournament in March, Henderson State has dropped its last three games and are 12-8 overall and 7-7 in the GAC.
In the last three games, the Lady Reddies shot just 37 percent from the field and averaged 18 turnovers per game.
Aungelique Sledge remains atop the GAC in scoring, averaging 21.1 points per game and leads HSU in 3-point field goals with 66. The junior from West Helena, Ark. scored 18 points in the first meeting against Harding.
Sledge needs just five more 3-point field goals to set the HSU single-season record.
Krystal Beachum is averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Beachum is second on the team in assists with 50.
Dulincia Keener is averaging 8.6 points and a team best 8.1 rebounds per game. The sophomore from Texarkana, Ark. scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the first meeting against the Lady Bisons.
The Lady Bisons are ranked No. 6 in the latest WBCA Top 25 poll having a 21-1 record overall and a 13-1 mark in the GAC with their only blemish being a 61-60 overtime loss against East Central.
Harding is one of the top offensive teams in the GAC averaging 79.8 points per game. The Lady Bisons are outscoring their opponents by 20.3 points per contest and lead the league in field goal percentage (.448).
Harding is also a team that is solid from beyond the 3-point arc, leading the league with a .388 shooting percentage. The Lady Bisons average 8.5 treys per game.
Kristen Celsor leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per contest which ranks second in the GAC.
In the first game this year against HSU, Celsor scored a career-high 36 points and had 12 rebounds against the Lady Reddies.
Arielle Saunders averages 11.1 points per game and a team-best 9.4 boards per contest which ranks second in the GAC. Saunders scored 16 points and had 15 rebounds earlier this year against the Lady Reddies.
Harding leads the all-time series 24-23 after its 92-75 win earlier this season in Searcy. The Lady Bisons have won the last four straight and 9 of the last 11 meetings.
Henderson State holds a 14-8 advantage in games played at the Duke Wells Center.
