JONESBORO, Ark. (ASU) - The 2013-14 Arkansas State University men's basketball team will be traveling to Canada this summer for an exhibition foreign tour in an announcement made by A-State men's basketball head coach John Brady this Thursday (June 6).

Arkansas State will be playing in Calgary, Alberta this August to compete in an exhibition foreign tour.

The Red Wolves are scheduled to play three games against local opponents with contests scheduled for August 15-17 against teams to be announced at a later date.

"We are excited about our team's opportunity to play three exhibition games this August in (Calgary) Canada," said Brady, who will begin his sixth season at A-State this 2013-14 campaign. "This will be a great start to our upcoming basketball season because of the practice time we will have in August. The opportunity to combine our returning players with those three who we had sitting out this past year along with our own incoming recruits will be a benefit.

"As I have said before, I like the way our team is coming together for next season and this is an excellent way for us to prepare for the upcoming(2013-14) season," added Brady.

More information about the upcoming 2013 A-State men's basketball exhibition foreign tour to Calgary will be posted once it becomes available. The ASU men's basketball will be visiting Calgary from Aug. 14-18.

Arkansas State produced a 19-12 overall record for the 2012-13 season, which represented the program's most single-season victories since the 1997-98 campaign. The Red Wolves also claimed their second Sun Belt Conference (SBC) West Division Championship title for the second time in the last three seasons as a result of notching a first-place 12-8 conference division mark.

The Red Wolves are slated to return eight letterwinners from last season's SBC West Division Champion squad, which includes senior guard Ed Townsel (13.1 ppg.), sophomore guard Cameron Golden (7.4 ppg.), senior forward Kendrick Washington (6.8 ppg.), sophomore forward Raeford "Gator" Worsham (6.4 ppg.), junior guard Rakeem Dickerson (4.9 ppg.), and sophomore forward Kelvin Downs (3.3 ppg.).
