UCA women fourth at SLC golf championship

    FRISCO, Texas (UCA) -- The University of Central Arkansas women's golf team finished fourth on Wednesday at the 2013 Southland Women's Golf Championship at the 5,977-yard Frisco Lakes Golf Club.

    Freshman Sarah Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, was UCA's top finisher, shooting 75-71-76 for a 7-over 222 to tie for fifth overall. Senior Julia Roth tied for eighth with rounds of 74-72-77_223, while sophomore Malin Senneryd tied for 12th (72-73-81_226).

    Junior Carly Dear shot 72-78-80_230 and tied for 20th, while freshman Frida Svensson tied for 29th (78-78-82_238).

    Lamar won its fourth SLC tournament at 891, followed by Oral Roberts and Sam Houston State (898), UCA (293-294-314_901), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (905), McNeese State (909) and Stephen F. Austin (941).
