RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech men's golf program will pay honor to the memory of former coach Dave Falconer with the playing of the inaugural Dave Falconer Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 27. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Wonder Boys golf program.
A registration form is available on the Tech Men's Golf website.
Entries for individuals are $75 per person. The tournament will be played as a 3-man scramble, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville.
Falconer led the Wonder Boys golf program from 1989 until he passed away on June 11, 2011. He led five conference championship teams, and placed ten teams in NAIA or NCAA postseason play.
The Wonder Boys golf program was not the only program at Tech that Falconer influenced with his coaching, as he also served as an assistant men's basketball coach from 1987-95, a stretch where the Wonder Boys won four AIC titles and won 20 or more games seven times. In his final season, the Wonder Boys basketball team advanced to the NAIA Final Four on the strength of a 29-6 record.
