FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - University of Arkansas junior Sebastian Cappelen shot a 4-under 66 to rally from four-strokes behind and win the Southeastern Conference men's golf individual championship.
Cappelen shot 8-under for the tournament and becomes the first Razorback to win the conference tournament since Bud Still in 1995. Cappelen played the final 40 holes without a bogey.
During Sunday's final round Cappelen birdied the 16th and 17th holes and went into the clubhouse at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons, Ga., with a one-shot lead over South Carolina's Caleb Sturgeon. Sturgeon then triple-bogeyed No. 16 and shot a final round 73.
Arkansas finished sixth in the team event that was won by Alabama.
