LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - There are some things even non-Razorback fans need to know about for this weekend. As Razorback fans flock to Little Rock, there will be a big traffic increase.
Police and restaurants around War Memorial Stadium are ready for a big game day weekend.
Brody Heflin manager at Slim Chickens on Markham said this will be the first Little Rock football game for the restaurant, but despite the traffic, Heflin said they will be doing business as usual Saturday.
"Traffic wise, I expect it to be really busy considering half the road is blocked off pretty much from here to the stadium," he said. "I think drive thru traffic business might be a little slower due to the number of cars coming in and out."
Heflin said their main concern will be parking violators.
"I don't know how it will be as far as parking," he said. "I hope people don't try to park and stay, so we'll have to do a good job at monitoring that."
Sergeant Cassandra Davis with the Little Rock Police Department says officers will be doing their job to alleviate any traffic issues.
"We feel pretty confident in the way that we've rotated the traffic that we won't have any major delays in traffic or major concerns," she explained.
Davis said officers will be in place all day to compensate for the increased flow of foot and vehicle traffic.
"They'll be directing traffic. If you have concerns about which way you need to go, there will be officers there to direct you," Davis added.
Following the game, Sergeant Cassandra Davis said drivers need to be aware that exits on I-630 around war Memorial Stadium will be shut down for a bit to allow fans to exit the stadium.
