    Cabot News:

CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) - Several counties have seen more school absences due to the flu virus, especially in the central and northeastern part of the state.

Less than half of Arkansans get vaccinated each year, but vaccination is not the only form of prevention. Doctors said hand hygiene is crucial.

"So last year we had a really rough year with influenza around the nation, there were a lot of deaths around the nation, particularly in pediatrics, this year so far we're seeing the numbers that are about the same pattern, so we're concerned that in fact this may be another rough year," said Dr. Gary Wheeler, ADH branch chief.

Wheeler said to take extra precaution during the holidays, especially for health care workers.
