2012 Theme: "Breakfast, the MOST important meal of the Day!"
School Drive Dates: Monday, March 19th through Friday, May 4th
Sign-up Period: Monday, March 19th– Friday, April 6th (3 weeks – but can collect cereal during this time)
Kick-Off Breakfast: THV Weather Garden (limit 5 per school grade level. Date and time T.B.A.)
Actual School Drive: Monday April 9th – Friday April 27th (3 weeks)
Cereal Bowl: Jack T Stephens Center on the Campus of UALR 5a.m. til 7:00a.m. (Friday, May 4th)
PODs Collection: Monday, April 30th through Friday, May 4th (All cereal must counted by April 27th!)
'Flash PODs' Creative Competition deadline for videos: Sunday April 22nd.
'Flash PODs'Creative Competition
There is a minimum of 250 boxes of cereal to participate in the ‘Flash PODs’ competition.
The ‘Flash PODs’, sponsored by PODs, is a competition involving your school to produce a ‘Flash Mob’ video, no more than three minutes in length with cereal boxes as the main prop, and no more than 30 participants.
School groups can, if they want to, incorporate the POD within the video segment but it’s not a requirement. The only guideline is you CANNOT dance on top of the Pod. But really we just want you to have fun and be creative showing your school spirit, and shooting the video anywhere at your school!
Schools will then upload their video here (http://www.todaysthv.com/video/viewer/default.aspx ) at the todaysthv.com website.
When uploading videos, be sure to include name of school, contact and phone number in description (contact info for THV use only). Deadline to upload videos is Sunday, April 22nd.
Voting by the public will begin online Friday, April 27th through Wednesday, May 2nd. There will be 1 winner per division (3). Winners will be invited to the Cereal Bowl on May 4th and their videos will be highlighted on-air during the Cereal Bowl between 5 am and 7am!
You will be able to view all ‘Flash PODs’ videos on the THV Website – www.todaysthv.com.
PODs will deliver a POD for your school to store collected cereal starting as soon as you sign up your school.
Schools that do not wish to have a POD should indicate on their entry form. You will be responsible for delivery of your cereal (to a local qualifying pantry) if you wish to compete in the overall most boxes competition. You must indicate the pantry and they must be a member of the Arkansas Foodbank’s network of pantries.
Prizes awarded for most boxes per division as follows; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 1st place in each division will receive a trophy and “Breakfast with Tom” Wednesday’s in May in the THV Weather Garden. 2nd and 3rd will receive a nice trophy!
PODs will be collected the week of April 30th through May 4th. Schools will need to place cereal boxes in boxes provided by the Arkansas Foodbank to prevent damage to cereal boxes!
Schools will e-mail Tom Brannon firstname.lastname@example.org with their cereal collection no later than Friday, April 27th at 5pm to be included in the overall collection contest. No exceptions!
