LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 18, 2012) - Alliance Rubber Company is a staple business in Hot Springs, operating almost 90 years. Today's THV recently visited the manufacturing company to see inside the plant that produces everything from traditional rubber bands to fragrance wristbands.
But Alliance is not just about making a profit; they are also working to make a change in the community. Each year they print rubber bands with Komen Race for the Cure information on them and donates them to the cause.
The company also helps support the initiative by sponsoring individual race participants, matching funds raised by the employees and more.
This year 34 employees are competiting under the team name 'Hog Wild for a Cure'. They have raised more money this year than anyone has in the history of the company's participation.
The team presented a check for more than $5,000 to the Komen Race for the Cure on 'THV This Morning'. Click on the THVideo!
To raise even more money, team members will be selling items in the lobby of the LaQuinta Inn on Broadway in Little Rock from noon to 6:30 p.m. this Friday, October 19th. There will be T-shirts, candles, jewelry and more for sale. All proceeds go to Race for the Cure.
If you are interested in joining the nearly 40,000 people participating in Race for the Cure on Saturday, you can still register online.
