LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Monday is a big day for area post offices. It is the Postal Service's busiest mailing day of the holiday season.

Officials said people tend to wait until the Monday before the week of Christmas to mail all their cards and packages, and Leisa Tolliver-Gay, with the US Postal Service, THV 11 News that they are fully staffed and ready for the uptick in packages.

"We're going to accept mail all the way through Christmas Eve. However it won't be making it home by Christmas Day, so we want people to mail first class priority or express mail no later than Friday this week in order for it to be delivered by Christmas Eve," she said.

The post office expects 365 million packages to be delivered around the globe this holiday season, and they expect Wednesday to be their busiest day for deliveries.
