LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Here is a recipe for braised collard greens.
Margaret Pauly with FitNuH will demonstrate this recipe with Ashley, Alyse and Tom.
Braised Collard Greens
2 oz. turkey kielbasa, chopped
1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1-16 oz package of raw, ready-to-cook collard greens
1 cup chicken stock or broth
Salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste
Spray non-stick pan with cooking spray. Sautee turkey kielbasa and red pepper until peppers are soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add chicken broth. Add part of the greens to the pan, adding more as the first batch cooks down, eventually putting all the greens into the pan. Cook until tender, approximately 10-15 minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper and hot sauce.
