LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - After being hit hard with the storm, Arkansas stores were hit hard with a deficit in monthly sales.

Stores and shops around town were not only able to heat or light their stores, but they were also unable to staff them.

It wasn't store owners just taking the hit either, many employees that work on commission, as well as restaurant servers that make tips as the primary income are also struggling.

Phil Olinghouse owns the Toggery in Little Rock and said on a scale from 1 to 10, this situation was an 8.

Manager of Promenade at Chenal, Linda Hinton, said gift card sales were high this year. Many stores hope to bounce back once power is fully restored.
