Aaron Ray Rash ordered behind bars with no bond in stabbing, child rape case

    SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - A man suspected of stabbing a woman while she tried to protect her daughter from being assaulted has appeared in court for the first time and is now formally charged.

    Aaron Ray Rash is now formally charged with battery and rape after police arrested him shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police said he is also wanted to for violating parole and has been convicted of a sexual crime before–he classified is a level 3 sex offender.

    The judge has order that Rash stayed behind bars without bond.

    Law Enforcement authorities said about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday he raped a 12-year-old girl, and stabbed her mother repeatedly when she tried to stop him.

    Brittany Eacret with the Searcy Police Dept. said the White County Sheriff's Office received a phone call of a suspicious person in the area Wednesday afternoon. Deputies arrived and identified the man as Rash; he was arrested without incident in the area of South Booth Rd. in Searcy.

    Searcy police said Rash is a Level 3 Sex Offender, among the most severe of offenders.
