LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Police are investigating a weekend shooting in Little Rock that reportedly occurred inside a vehicle.
Police said they were advised that a male was shot near Monroe Street, but that he was already en route to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officers said, after speaking with the victim, that the suspect climbed into the back of an occupied car and demanded money that was "owed to him." According to the police narrative, the suspect then shot the driver and fled the vehicle. The victim who was shot got out of the vehicle, the report says, and ran after the suspect while the passenger moved over to the driver's seat to search for the victim.
Officers said the passenger located the victim and drove him to St. Vincent Hospital where it was determined that the injuries sustained are non-life threatening.
A witness recalled to police that there were two black males running southbound while the victim was limping northbound.
