WYNNE, Ark. (KTHV) - A Wynne High School band teacher is out on bond and out of a job after allegations of sexual indecency with one of his students.

Wynne Public Schools Superintendent Carl Easley told THV 11 the district delivered a letter of termination this afternoon to their high school band director Nicholas Wooster after allegations he kissed a 16-year-old female student, exposed himself and asked her for sex behind the closed doors of his classroom.

It's news that has the whole town talking, and residents say no one saw coming.

"If I had a child in school and this happened, I would home school," said Wynne resident Katharine Callahan.

Wynne Police Chief Jeff Sanders said a call into the Crimes Against Children Hotline in April led to the arrest of Nicholas Wooster Wednesday afternoon for sexual indecency with a child. The victim is one of his high school band students.

"He gave a full confession that. Yeah, he did it. He did ask her for sex. He was a band director at the high school and like study hall or something. He was taking her out of class and taking her into the band room and asking her to have sex with him," said Chief Sanders.

An affidavit also claimed that Wooster kissed that student, exposed himself and sent explicit sexual messages on Facebook. The first incident occurred in December 2012 and continued through the spring. Sanders said in less than 24 hours, Wooster posted a $1,000 cash bond.

"Personally, I think it was a little low but that's out of my hands," said Chief Sanders.

"He got out way too easy. He got a slap on the hand for what he done to that minor, and it's not right," exclaimed Wynne resident, Kay Smith.

THV 11 did reach out to Mr. Wooster himself but did not receive a response. The Wynne School District said this is the first time they've ever had an incident like this involving a faculty member.

Wooster's first court date is set for July 25. Sexual indecency with a child is a class D felony in Arkansas.
