ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (KTHV) -- Wednesday Henderson State University's board of trustees voted unanimously to raise the school's admissions standards.
"The new standards are easy to understand," says to Carrie Roberson with the university. "If a student scores a 19 on the ACT test then they are unconditionally admitted to HSU. Students scoring a 16, 17, or 18 will be admitted conditionally and HSU will do everything we can to make them successful with support from our academic advising center."
Roberson says the new policy will not impact the school's recruiting strategies.
The new admissions standards will go into effect fall 2014 for all incoming freshmen.
