LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A group of parents banding gather on the steps of the capitol to rally against common core Saturday.
The group says the curriculum is not officially approved by the legislature or by parents. The system governs what students learn in English and math from kindergarten through 12th grade.

One mother is irate with what she calls a failure in the education system.
"I am the face and the voice of the modern American parent, and I would like to invite you to join me. I don't want to stand alone," she exclaimed.
Also speaking out against the program, a group of teachers that call themselves Arkansas Teachers Against Common Core (ATACC).
