Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Dustin McDaniel is speaking at a Forrest City Chamber of Commerce event in his first public speech since admitting to an extramarital relationship.
McDaniel is to speak Thursday night at the chamber's banquet at East Arkansas Community College. A spokesman said McDaniel plans to talk about services provided by the attorney general's office and economic development in east Arkansas.
The speech is McDaniel's first public event since admitting Dec. 18 that he had an "inappropriate" relationship with Hot Springs attorney Andrea L. Davis. McDaniel apologized for the relationship at a news conference Tuesday and vowed to continue with his 2014 bid for governor.
McDaniel has been married since 2009.
