LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The chairmen of Arkansas' Democratic and Republican parties are squaring off as they gear up for an election a little less than a year away.
State Democratic Party Chairman Vince Insalaco and Arkansas Republican Party Chairman Doyle Webb are scheduled to appear jointly on Wednesday before the Political Animals Club at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock.
The two are speaking to the group as they prepare for an election where Democrats hope to rebound from recent Republican gains in the state. Republicans last year swept the state's four U.S. House seats and won control of the state Legislature for the first time since Reconstruction.
Insalaco was elected the Democrats' chairman in September. Webb has served as GOP chairman since 2008.
