Lawyers for Curtis Lavelle Vance will argue that a state psychiatrist couldn't have found their client fit during a 15-minute talk in May. Vance refused to take part in the mental examination, but the psychiatrist later wrote that he did so in a "rational" way.
The state psychiatrist and a defense-hired psychiatrist both are scheduled to testify. The hearing is set for 9 a.m. before Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza.
Vance is accused of killing Anne Pressly, a morning anchorwoman for Little Rock television station KATV. He faces a capital murder charge in her death.
