The De Valls Bluff Police Department, along with the help of the Hazen Marshal's Office, Prairie County Sheriff's Department, Central Arkansas Drug Task Force, and the Arkansas State Police all contributed to the investigation.
Authorities seized over 100 pounds of marijuana that stemmed from a traffic stop in De Valls Bluff.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the marijuana trafficking operation. The names of the suspects are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
Marijuana in 103 bundles were seized from the suspect's vehicle where it was concealed in a fabricated compartment.
Prairie County Sheriff's Department says, "This is a great example of how important it is for our local law enforcement to be aggressive in their efforts to intercept these drug runners. Many of our local officers have received and continue to receive specialized training in drug interdiction techniques. Major rug couriers are not just using the interstate to transport all types of illegal drugs. They are also using state highways, which in turn run through our cities and neighborhoods."
