Attorneys for Dr. Randeep Mann filed a request Tuesday in federal court, seeking to join a motion filed a day earlier by Sangeeta "Sue" Mann, who was convicted of obstruction and perjury charges.
The motion asks U.S. District Judge Brian Miller to find Sue Mann innocent or order a new trial because there wasn't sufficient evidence to prove her convictions. A federal jury deliberated for more than two days before convicting the Manns.
Randeep Mann faces up to life in prison for the February 2009 bombing that nearly killed Dr. Trent Pierce, the chairman of the Arkansas State Medical Board. He's expected to be sentenced sometime this fall.
