BALD KNOB, Ark. (KTHV) -- White County deputies say an unidentified man tried to pick up a child Monday at Bald Knob Elementary School. When the teacher brought the student to the man's car, deputies say the child replied, "I don't know him."

It happened around 3:30 p.m. during pick up time. Cpl. Steve Hernandez tells Today's THV that the man asked for the boy specifically by name. When the child didn't' recognize the man, he drove off with no explanation.

The suspect is a white male. He was wearing sunglasses and a hat. Deputies say he was driving a late 90's model maroon GMC pick-up truck with an extended cab. There's a possibility the truck has Arkansas Game & Fish tags.

All White County schools have been notified. White County deputies and local police departments have stepped up patrols in the area.

Last week, an unidentified man attempted to lure kids three different times into his car in Conway. At this time, investigators don't believe the Conway incidents are connected to the one in White County.
