LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- The Russellville doctor convicted of bombing the chief of the Arkansas Medical Board is asking a judge to delay his sentencing.

Randeep Mann was convicted in August of using a weapon of mass destruction in the bombing of Dr. Trent Pierce outside his home in West Memphis. Mann is scheduled for sentencing on Monday, but his lawyers say they need more time to prepare.

The medical board had suspended Mann from writing prescriptions, and prosecutors say Mann blamed Pierce and tried to kill him in an act of revenge. Pierce survived, but was badly injured.

Mann's wife, Sangeeta Mann, was convicted of obstruction of justice and is also to be sentenced Monday. U.S. District Judge Brian Miller earlier denied a request for a sentencing delay by Sangeeta Mann.
