ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in Rogers say a 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a baby boy.
The Rogers Police Department says Michael Proffitt Jr. was arrested Monday on suspicion of capital murder. Police accuse him in the death of an 11-month-old boy who died last week.
Authorities were called to a motel in Rogers on May 30 on a report that the baby was not breathing. The child was taken to Mercy Medical Center and transferred to Arkansas Children's Hospital, where he later died.
Proffitt is being held at the Benton County Sheriff's Office awaiting a bond hearing. Authorities did not know if he had an attorney.
