LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - After jurors failed to reach a verdict in the manslaughter trial of a former Little Rock police officer, a judge has set a new trial date.

Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen scheduled trial to start Sept. 19 and he set aside three weeks for the proceeding.

Josh Hastings was charged after he fatally shot 15-year-old Bobby Moore III while investigating car break-ins at a west Little Rock apartment complex.

Testimony began Wednesday and jurors heard closing arguments Saturday morning. They deliberated Saturday and Sunday without being able to reach a verdict. Griffen declared a mistrial.

A pretrial hearing for Hastings' retrial is set for Aug. 27.
