LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Garland County authorities now suspect foul play in the disappearance of a Jessieville man after items from his truck are found in the woods of Garland County.

Dan Roberson is a well-known Jessieville resident who was last seen wearing a blue button-up Dickies shirt and blue jeans on July 9. Arkansas State Police activated a Silver Alert for him Thursday.

Thursday night around midnight, volunteer searchers found personal effects from Roberson's vehicle on a "trail" off Main Haul Road off Hwy. 7 North in Garland County.

While investigators were processing the scene and gathering items, searchers found a stolen vehicle in a dense wooded area nearby. The vehicle is now in the Sheriff's Office custody.

Now, the Garland County Sheriff's Office suspects foul play in Roberson's disappearance, but there are no persons of interest right now.

Authorities said that if Roberson's vehicle is located, do not handle it.  They also advise that if the vehicle is occupied, do not approach it.

Friday morning at 8 a.m., searchers with Mounted Patrol, Search & Rescue Unit, Volunteer Fire Department, and other volunteers began a search on foot and horseback for Roberson and his truck. According to the Garland County Sheriff's Department, mounted patrol will not return Saturday to search the area off of Main Haul Road since much of the area is not passable on horseback, but they were able to cover a lot of ground in the search on Friday.

Roberson's daughter, Berverly Davis, says the family loses hope with every passing day.

"I just want my dad to come home whether he's alive or not. We need closure," said Davis.

The Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information on the disappearance of Roberson contact investigators at 501-622-3690 or their anonymous tip line at 501-622-3674.
