LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A judge in Pulaski County has again rejected prosecutors' requests to delay the upcoming manslaughter retrial for a former Little Rock police officer.
Prosecutors had asked Judge Wendell Griffen to reconsider his decision to not push back the retrial for Josh Hastings, who's charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of 15-year-old Bobby Moore III.
In the motion to reconsider, prosecutors say two "essential" witnesses, including their accident reconstruction expert, will be unavailable to testify at Hastings' retrial, set to begin Sept. 16.
At a hearing Monday, Griffen again denied the request for the delay.
Hastings will be tried again on a manslaughter charge after a jury deadlocked in June.
