NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Police have reopened John F. Kennedy Blvd. and McCain Blvd. after a woman was shot in the intersection.

North Little Rock Police have confirmed that a woman was killed in a drive by shooting around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. She was driving eastbound in McCain and the suspect vehicle was going the opposite direction on the same road. An unknown number of shots were fired as the two cars passed each other.

Police said the woman crashed her car and was taken to UAMS where she later died. Officers added that an infant was in the back seat of her car at the time of the shooting and was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital but was unharmed.

Police are looking for a vehicle of interest. It is possibly a Ford F-150 that is dark in color (some witnesses have said maroon or black), and an orange tool box.

Police have not released the name of the victim.

The intersection was shut down for hours as police investigated the crime scene, but it has since reopened to normal traffic.
