A 9-1-1 call came in late Monday night about a fire at Fellowship Bible Church on S. 46th Street.
By the time fire crews arrived, the church was fully engulfed.
Church deacon Scott Wallace says it looks like the fire started in the front business offices, spread to some classrooms, and on to an area of the church very special to its followers. He says, "They'll be sad about losing the structure and this is where we do baptisms, so some memories."
Most of the damages were contained to the front buildings, but firefighters were able to save the worship center in the back.
The fire marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire once it's safe to go inside the church.
