J.T. Wright, 45, of Wilton was sentenced in Little River County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. He was charged in the Aug. 2, 2009 death of his wife, Leeann, at a deer camp near Ashdown.
The woman's family said they're frustrated with what they consider a light sentence. But Prosecutor Bryan Chesshir told the Texarkana Gazette that the lack of evidence and witnesses made it difficult to win a conviction if the case had gone to trial.
Wright told investigators that his wife was shot accidentally while the two fought over a gun.
