LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - U.S. Attorney Christopher R. Thyer announced today that a former police officer, Robert Wahls, entered a guilty plea in "Operation Delta Blues."
According to officials, Wahls was an officer for the Marvell Police Department. He entered his plea in front of Judge Billy Roy Wilson today. The charges stemmed from multiple Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force investigations over a two-year period.
Officials say that Wahls plead guilty to attempted interference with commerce by means of extortion ("Hobbs Act"), and money laundering. The U.S. dismissed the remaining counts against the defendant.
Seventy people were indicted in "Operation Delta Blues," including five police officers.
