EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - A judge has set a $350,000 bond for a Junction City man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend.
Richard Hart is charged in the June 15 death of Amanda Fory. Prosecutors also charged him with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor because two children were in the home at the time of Fory's death.
Authorities say police were initially told that Fory shot herself, but an autopsy revealed that someone else shot her.
The El Dorado News-Times reports (http://is.gd/KDHspz) that Hart told a judge Wednesday that he couldn't afford an attorney because all of his assets were in Fory's name. The judge declared Hart indigent and said the public defender's office should represent him.
The judge scheduled a July 2 court appearance.
