LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A Class 2A-7 school will forfeit the remaining games of its 2012 football season because of a lack of participation, eligibility issues and injuries.
The Arkansas Activities Association announced Monday that Lafayette County is 0-1 in conference play and 0-4 on the season.
The association says Lafayette County was scheduled to play Spring Hill on Friday; Foreman on Oct. 5; Dierks on Oct. 12; Gurdon on Oct. 19 and Mineral Springs on Oct. 26.
According to Lafayette County superintendent Mark Keith, the school plans to have a team next year because (1) the numbers in the Junior High program and (2) the school is optimistic about the future.
