LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has picked four finalists for the position of provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs.
The UALR provost leads six colleges at the university, as well as the graduate school and Bowen School of Law. The new provost will replace David Belcher, who left the university in July 2011 to become chancellor of Western Carolina University.
The finalists are: Jerry Herron, the founding dean of the Irvin D. Reid Honors College at Wayne State University in Detroit; Laurence Alexander, associate dean of the graduate school at the University of Florida; Zulma Toro-Ramos, dean of the College of Engineering at Wichita State University; and Kevin Truman, dean of the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
