Noel Santoro accused of taking child's prescription medication
BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Deputies say a Midway man has been arrested and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, a woman reported that when she was administering prescription medication to her 6-year-old son, she noticed that the capsules were empty. She told deputies that her husband, 40-year-old Noel Santoro, had been gone all day and that the child's medicine had been in his vehicle with him.
Deputies say the woman had been contacted by a school official who said her child had not been behaving normally for a period of time and asked whether he was still taking his medicine.
Santoro was brought in for questioning and deputies say he admitted to taking the medication from the capsules and placing the empty capsules back into the bottle on three separate occasions, knowing that the medicine was for his stepson.
Deputies determined that Santoro had consumed the medication and arrested him on three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree. A no-contact order was also served on Santoro to prohibit him from having any contact with the child. Additionally, deputies say he has been placed on a no-bond hold for a probation violation from the district court.
