LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- On Capitol Hill, US Senator John Boozman, R-Arkansas, called on the president to approve the Keystone X-L Pipeline. He said Arkansas would benefit because of a large Nucor plant in Blytheville could supply steel and in Little Rock, Welspun Tublar could provide piping.

"They've got 500 miles of this pipe sitting in storage that they've produced...The problem is instead of increasing employment for the future, they've had to lay off workers because of the indecision," he said.

The US Chamber of Commerce estimates the project would create 250,000 jobs.

Last month, Nebraska's governor approved a revised route for the pipeline.
