SEARCY, Ark. (HARDING) - Harding senior Portia Bell and sophomore Ewa Zaborowska have been invited to participate in the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track and field Championship on Mar. 7-9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
Bell, a native of Pacoima, Calif., will race in the 60-meter dash. She ran 7.60 in the 60 meters at Samford on Feb. 8 and enters the national championship ranked 14th in the even in Division II. It will be Bell's first appearance at the indoor national championships.
Zaborowska, who hails from Wejherowo, Poland, will compete in both the mile and the 3,000 meters after winning both events Sunday at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Lubbock, Texas. Harding's school record holder in both events, Zaborowska is ranked third in Division II in the mile (4.49.88, Samford) and 14th in the 3,000 meters (9:46.39, Emory).
Zaborowska will be making her second appearance at indoor nationals. Last season she placed ninth in the 800 meters in 2:13.38.
The top eight finishers in each event will earn All-America honors.
