LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police are investigating the city's 12th homicide of 2013.

Around 5:10 a.m. Friday, police were called to 4th and Woodrow St. That's where they talked with a man who says he and a friend, Forrest Abrams, were getting gas at 12th and Woodrow when they were approached by three suspects who demanded a ride at gunpoint.

Police say they drove to 4th and Woodrow streets where one of the victims got out of the car. After a while, the surviving victim says the three suspects and Abrams suddenly drove off.

Abrams was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound on 11th Street between Woodrow St. and Booker St.

The victim's vehicle, a smaller red SUV, was found abandoned around 8:40 a.m. on Charles Bussey Avenue.

The death is still under investigation.

A barber in the area, Victor Harper, says crime drags down the community and his business.

"We're tired of it. We're sick of it. We're trying to make a decent living," said Harper.

Harper's co-worker, Anthony Dunlap, says something must be done about the security at the nearby gas station. Dunlap says the steady amount of crime stems from many people waiting on service outside and late at night.

"They're just standing there. They don't have any other options, no where else to go. The next closest gas station is 12th and Fair Park and I think they have to stand out there," said Dunlap.
