Authorities say a Rockport police officer shot a man Monday morning after he attacked firefighters trying to save his mobile home. Authorities say 40-year-old Kenneth Brown is in critical condition at an unidentified hospital after being shot at least two times by an officer. Brown allegedly threatened to stab firefighters with a pen when they arrived to put out a fire at his mobile home around 10 a.m. Firefighters called police, who chased Brown into the woods. Police say Brown hit an officer in the face with a stick, and the officer then shot Brown. Police did not immediately identify the officer involved in the shooting. Rockport is 35 miles southwest of Little Rock in Hot Spring County.
