“Today’s THV at Noon” will return Sept. 10 with Stefanie Bryant joining Tom Brannon at the anchor desk. Bryant is a veteran THV reporter, eager to deliver Arkansans THV’s up to the minute news during the noon hour.
The newscast will be expanded to a full half hour as Positively Arkansas moves to the new time period of 9:30 in the morning.
Brannon is best known as the meteorologist on Today’s THV This Morning, but also for his “anything goes” style and personality. He promises to bring the same lively approach to “Today’s THV at Noon.”
Bryant is excited to be teamed up with Brannon and says the noontime opportunity to meet with viewers is a good one.
“We will work hard to bring a local focus on everything that is timely and important to our THV friends watching at noon,” said Bryant. “We will look for their feedback as we develop a newscast that meets their needs every day.”
Bryant follows in the path of long-time THV noon anchor B.J. Sams who has decided to direct all of his energies to the popular “Today’s THV This Morning” newscast weekday mornings at 5:00.
In a groundbreaking move for Little Rock broadcasting, the noon newscast will be seen not only on TV at home, but also online at work and everywhere todaysthv.com can be accessed.
“We will simulcast ‘Today’s THV at Noon’ in its entirety live on the World Wide Web with the newscast taking a featured position on todaysthv.com,” said KTHV President and General Manager Larry Audas. “We want to not only deliver news to folks at home, but to the many people on the job or at the office who will want to take a few minutes at noon to watch a live newscast on their computers.”
Audas said the new online potential of “Today’s THV at Noon” will greatly expand its viewership and may produce interesting interactive options for Today’s THV in the weeks to come.
